This elegant weather barometer blends old and new technologies to interpret weather. The water barometer, or storm glass, is of the type used since the 17th century to demonstrate variations in atmospheric pressure quickly and reliably. A low water level in the spout indicates high pressure and fair weather. The water rises in the spout (and may spill over) in severe weather as pressure falls.
In addition to the water barometer please note the thermometer and hygrometer that measures temperature and humidity. If the needles cross in the darkened center area, you are in the comfort zone.
